Continuing the tradition of giving all its vehicles a female name, the Stobart team is offering naming rights to Valentino Rossi’s Rally GB Ford Focus to the highest bidder.
The scheme is designed to help the MotoGP star raise funds for Children In Need - an annual British charity appeal organised by the BBC which so far this year has raised more than £20m.
Rossi’s Ford Focus RS will carry a special Stobart livery that incorporates the charity’s logo and mascot, Pudsey Bear, and the cars own name on its front bumper. After the event, the name will be transferred to one of the 1,850 trucks in the Eddie Stobart fleet.
The highest bidder in the auction, which closes on Friday 21 November, will get to choose the name and will also receive Stobart VIP hospitality during the rally.
Stobart Group CEO Andrew Tinkler said: “We are very excited to have Valentino driving a Stobart car on Wales Rally GB and it is only right that the company does its bit to help raise money for the Children in Need charity which he is driving for. I am a great fan of Valentino’s and it will be a massive compliment to have our brand on his car and it will really bring a lot of excitement to the whole team next month.”
